Poet Deena Linett will read from her work 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the Williams Visual Arts Building, 243 North 3rd Street, Easton, Pa.

Refreshments will be served, and an open mic will follow the reading. Musical entertainment will be provided by Don Skelly.

Linett lives in Montclair, N.J., and is professor of English at Montclair State University. She has won national contests for her novels On Common Ground and The Translator’s Wife, as well as for short fiction. Her most recent collection of poetry, Rare Earths, was dedicated to her twin granddaughters and has just been published by BOA Editions, Ltd. Her poems have appeared in literary journals such as Kalliope, Harvard Magazine, Mississippi Valley Review, Two Rivers Review, Southern Poetry Review, and Missouri Review.

Twice a Yaddo Fellow, Linett has been a resident at Hawthornden Castle International Retreat for Writers in Scotland. She is the mother of three children.
