The duo of Shivani Malhotra and Michelle Wiater have proven to be a formidable intramural team recently, taking the women’s two-on-two basketball and miniature golf titles.

The pair finished first in competition Sept.19-20 at the Two T’s miniature golf course on Sullivan Trail in Forks Township, followed by the Tri-Delta teams of Emilie George and Amanda Simone, and Meredith Sabosik and Susan Closs, respectively. The men’s competition has not concluded.

In basketball, Malhotra and Wiater won the championship game, 7-2, over second-place finishers Laura Benaquista and Megan Dolan. The Alpha Phi team of Colleen Sullivan and Lauren Mack finished third.

Tri-Delta’s strong showing continued with first- and second-place finishes in singles ping pong by Laney Wyatt and Thea Fry, respectively. Alpha Gamma Delta’s Alissa Johnston took third place.

In the men’s under-six foot two-on-two basketball tilt, Andy Matos and Mike McGarrity ended the winning streak of Kerem Ok and Tarik Ghanim with authority, streaking to a 7-1 blowout in the final.

Neil Lovrich and Seth Thomas finished third. In the over-six foot division, Spencer Williams and Josh Sullivan squeaked out a 7-6 victory over Kerem Ok and Scott Gearhart. Daniel Kuberka and William Stocker took third.

Men’s singles ping pong saw ISA competitors Rodolpho Silva and Guangxi Wang take first and third place, respectively, with Spencer Williams finishing second.

Standings in men’s flag football as of Oct. 2 had Lambda Lambda leading the fraternity division with a perfect 6-0 record, followed by FIJI at 4-2, Scrappers at 3-0, and Delta Upsilon at 3-1. The Sweet Jorts team was on top of the Dorm Division with a 5-0 record, followed closely by the Rage and Freedom squads, each of whom were posting 4-0 marks.

In men’s soccer, Bumsquad, KDR, and Question Marks all had 3-0 records as of Oct. 2. The women’s Independents soccer team had a 2-0 record and ISA was 1-0.

Following the concluded intramural tournaments, the point totals in the battle for the McGaughey Trophy were as follows:
