The ice hockey club has recovered from a blowout non-league loss in its season opener to post two assertive league victories, including an 11-2 drubbing of Kutztown last night.

Steve Calawa ’02 led all scorers with four goals yesterday, complemented by a hat trick from Pete McLane ’04. Matt Haddad ’05 scored two goals, and Nate Bazyk ’02 and James Haroldson ’03 each had one goal. Goalie Chad Wolf ’02 posted a shutout in the first two periods before being replaced by John Ritter ’03.

Lafayette posted its first win of the season by defeating Millersville, 6-2, on Sunday. Bazyk lead all scorers with two goals. Calawa, McLane, Jon Grabowski ’02, and Erin Koen ’05 chipped in with one goal each.

The team lost to Villanova, 9-0, in Saturday’s season opener. Ritter allowed no goals after replacing Wolf late in the third period.
