“When I was an undergraduate, the job market was so poor that you couldn't really plan out your career,” says Bill Compton '72, newly appointed director of syndications for Transamerica Technology Finance, Rosemont, Ill. “I started out working for a small bank and moved around. Nothing prepares you like being out there, doing the job.”

An economics and business graduate, Compton has 25 years of commercial and venture-lending and leasing experience. He has worked for MetLife Capital, GECC, and most recently for FINOVA's Technology Finance Division as vice president of marketing. As director of syndications, he will develop new business through parties such as venture loan brokers and other venture lenders throughout North America. Compton also will be responsible for arranging multi-lender loan agreements with TTF as agent.
“We recognize that attracting capital from multiple sources is a challenge for venture-stage company CFOs,” says Compton. “Our syndication services provide a welcome outsourcing solution.”

TTF provides customized financing services to high-growth, venture-backed businesses in the life sciences and technology industries.
