The Asian Culture Association (ACA) invites students to enjoy an event in honor of the festival of Diwali in the Farinon Center Limburg Theater at 4 p.m. today.

Indian candy and beverages will be served. The event is free and open to the campus community.

Robin Rinehart, associate professor of religion, and Sarah Diamond, visiting assistant professor of anthropology and sociology, will share their experiences with celebrating Diwali in India, where they have traveled on multiple occasions. A winner of the 2001-2002 Thomas Roy and Lura Forrest Jones Faculty Award, Rinehart spent the spring semester conducting research in India. For information on her research, see http://news.lafayette.edu/2001/09/18/robin-rinehart-will-re-examine-categories-within-religious-studies-during-oct-18-jones-faculty-lecture/. Diamond wrote her doctoral dissertation on folk dance in India.

Paul Barclay, assistant professor of history and ACA adviser, also will attend.
