Scott Placke, director of individual events for the Forensics Team, will discuss the art of public speaking 5-6 p.m. today in the Marquis Hall Lounge.

Sponsored by the Communications Union, the event is free and open to the campus community.

Placke will talk about the elements of a good oral presentation and how to make a speech more effective. “If this program goes well, we are considering making a similar program available to resident advisers who need to do a faculty-run program next semester,” says Emily Murphy, a member and past president of the Communications Union.

The group also is sponsoring a Pictionary study break 8 p.m. Sunday at Gilberts. The event is free and anyone who wants to play is welcome to join the game.
