Michael Blair '01 and Jean Marie Ruddy '01 were recognized at the first awards banquet in April of the David K. McDonogh Health Professions Society, formed to provide a full range of alumni support for students interested in the health field.

Blair received the Sanfurd G. Bluestein '42 Award, given annually to a student planning a career in medicine who has distinguished himself or herself academically and contributed to various aspects of college life. Ruddy won the Joseph Watt Kuebler Jr. Memorial Prize, presented to the senior biology major with the highest grade point average who also is entering medical school.

The guest speaker at the event was Dr. Ron Fishbein '53, former dean of admissions and faculty member, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He spoke on Professionalism and 'The Master Clinician': An Early Learning Experience.”
