Becka Dresner '98 carried the Olympic Torch down Forest Avenue in Staten Island in December. She was one of 11,500 people nationwide who carried the Olympic Torch from Atlanta to Salt Lake City. “This is by far the most exciting thing I've ever done,” Dresner told The Jersey Journal. “I can't even begin to describe what an honor this is.”

A marathon runner who competes in triathlons, Dreshner lives in Hoboken and is senior accounts manager at Suffolk Capital in Manhattan. At Lafayette Dresner was a member of the swim team and helped coach Special Olympic swimmers. “When you see the courage that these athletes have, day in and day out, it inspires you to become the best person you can be,” she says. She has also helped the National Leukemia Society raise funds, will be part of the crew for the Avon three-day walk this October, and is active in the Lafayette New York City Alumni Chapter.
