Bryn Mawr College philosophy professor Kenneth Richman will speak on “When to Pull the Plug: A New Direction for Medical Ethics” 7:30 pm today in Jaqua Auditorium, Hugel Hall.

The event is free and open to the public.

Richman joined the Bryn Mawr faculty in 2000. He specializes in early modern philosophy (especially the philosopher David Hume), epistemology, and the philosophy of medicine. He has authored papers on Hume, philosophy of education and concepts of health. The anthology The New Hume Debate (2000), which he co-edited with Rupert Read, was published by Routledge. He is working on a book entitled Concepts of Health and the Ethics of Medical Care. At Bryn Mawr, Richman teaches ancient and modern philosophy, and topics in contemporary analytic philosophy such as the philosophy of mind.
