Prize-winning poet Daisy Fried will give a reading 8 p.m. today at the Williams Visual Arts Building.

Live music and an open mic will follow the reading. A $3 donation is suggested.

Fried teaches creative writing and poetry at Haverford College and Rutgers University. Her poems have appeared in a wide variety of journals, including American Poetry Review, Antioch Review, Colorado Review, Threepenny Review and many others. She is the recipient of a 1998 Pew Fellowship in poetry, and her collection, She Didn’t Mean To Do It (University of Pittsburgh Press), received the 1999 Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize.

The event is part of the Riverside Reading Series. Upcoming Friday readings will be held at the Williams Visual Arts Building May 3 and June 7.
