The Men’s Volleyball Club will face some of the top squads in the region tomorrow during a championship tournament at Messiah College in Grantham, Pa.

With a record of 8-7 and a #16 seeding in the round-robin tournament, the team will take on Messiah (14-0), Elizabethtown (9-2), and Penn State-Altoona (6-5) in the first round. Tournament action will begin 9 a.m.

The club qualified for the tournament despite losing its last two matches March 16, 3-0 to Shippensburg 3-0 and 3-2 to Drexel.

Teams that have qualified include Philadelphia University, College of New Jersey, and Eastern College in the East bracket; West Chester, Villanova, Elizabethtown, and Drexel in the Central; Lafayette, Lehigh, and Bloomsburg in the North; and Messiah, Millersville, Susquehanna, and Penn State-Altoona in the West.

The top two teams from each group will advance in the tournament, with the third-place team moving on to the consolation round. The matches will be best-of-three.

The Volleyball Club roster is: first-year students Doug Fox, Wayne Scott, Ryan Waite, and Kyle DeLabar; sophomores Eric Bryant and chemical engineering major Ryan Van Horn; junior government and law major Jeff Baum; and seniors Dan Huber (computer science), Brian Holt (mechanical engineering), and Paul Dzelzgalvis (psychology). Erin Brune ’05 is team manager.
