Students are invited to sign up to enter the fifth annual Math Bowl competition, scheduled for noon Monday, April 29 in Pardee Hall room 201.

Four teams of four students will compete against each other in a Jeopardy-style format. Like college bowl tournaments, a buzzer system will determine which team answers each toss-up question. Toss-up questions are worth 10 points, with a correct answer leading to a bonus question worth more points.

Sample toss-up questions are:
1. Name a mathematician at Lafayette whose name can be rearranged to spell SETS ON FIRE.
2. What shape are the faucets in the bathrooms of Pardee?
3. What is the sum of the first four primes?

A signup sheet for contestants is posted on the door of Gary Gordon, professor of mathematics, Pardee 221.
