Music instructor Alexis Fisher will give a piano recital 8 p.m. today in the Williams Center for the Arts auditorium.

Free and open to the public, the event is part of the Faculty Recital Series sponsored by the Music Department.

Fisher will open with Sonata in D minor and Sonata in E major by Antonio Soler, followed by Sonata in Eb major, Hob.XVI:52 by Franz Joseph Haydn and Gnomenreigen by Franz Liszt. After intermission, Fisher will play Sonata in A minor, D. 784 by Franz Schubert and Ballade in F minor, op.52 by Frederic Chopin.

Fisher teaches classical piano in classes and private lessons. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music at the Manhattan School of Music. She also attended Indiana University. Fisher has taught at Santa Clara University and San Jose City College in California. She is active as a soloist and collaborative pianist.
