Michael Baldoni ’02, a double major in economics & business and psychology, has earned a position in Ernst and Young’s Your Master Plan Program. As Baldoni works full-time work in the firm’s Assurance and Advisory Business Services practice in Islein, N.J., the program will pay for his graduate studies at the University of Virginia over the next two summers. Baldoni seeks to earn his M.S. in accountancy.

“I think Lafayette has done a good job preparing me for the business world,” says Baldoni. “I have taken a variety of classes that have given me the background and skills I will need. Also, Lafayette helps you evolve from a student into a professional who is ready to work in the business environment. Everything from Excel training to group projects has helped me think outside the classroom.”

Baldoni feels that one of Lafayette’s greatest strengths is the opportunity it affords students to learn in a variety of environments.

“From internships and externships, to research and theses, Lafayette gives students many options and chances to learn about themselves and their field of study.”

Baldoni studied abroad in Istanbul, Turkey, during a January interim session between semesters. He is a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, which he has served as vice president and rush chair. He was a member of Lafayette’s peer counselor program for two years, and has served as head peer counselor this past year. He has spent three years on the Family Weekend Committee, serving as chairperson this year. Last summer, he interned at Advantage Bank in Hillsborough, N.J., as a loan analyst.
