April 19, 2002
An official meeting of the 2002 Student Government was held in the Farinon Center, Room 12 at 5:05pm. There were 10 members present.

I. President’s Report – Morgan Albus
A. MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM APRIL 11TH.

B. Thank you very much for everyone that helped make Experience Lafayette a success.
C. Anti-Hate Week was also a success. The government did a great job.
D. Great job Jenna on the Diversity Forum. It was very successful.
E. The Neighborhood Cleanup will be on Saturday, from 8:00a.m-11:00a.m. Please try to be there.
F. The budget meetings will take place throughout the next few weeks. If anyone has signed up to help, please be there.
G. Lee and Jon did a great job with their article in the newspaper.
H. There is a Women’s Conference this summer in Washington D.C. Any female government member who would like to attend, please see me.
I. Please make sure to sign up to attend events throughout the next few weeks.

II. Vice President’s Report – Amy Giacobone
A. Notice sent to student body informing them of availability of Associate Rep positions.
B. In contact with current Associate Reps in order to determine who needs to be replaced.
C. Applications are due on Monday, April 22nd. Plan on conducting interviews through the week of the 22nd.
D. Names of new reps will be submitted to Professor Wooley by May 1st.

III. Secretary’s Report – Alex Karapetian
A. If any member signs up for office hours, make sure to be there.

IV. Treasurer’s Report – Elizabeth Harris
A. The Marquis Literary Magazine is here to present an emergency allocation.

V. Campus Student Services – Brad Ship
A. In the following week, will contact:
1. Bruce Feretti about the electric bill for the boat house.
2. Palmer Park Mall about not stopping the shuttle bus there.
3. Dean Diorio about weekend clean-up issues.
B. Place a poster in lower Farinon about the shuttle.

VI. Student Life – Meredith Walburg
A. FCC is planning a bbq next Friday the 26th on Easton Quad. There will be a DJ, and we’ll need help from 5:00p.m-7: 00p.m.
B. 315 prospective students came to Experience Lafayette on Sunday. The Admissions Office said it was a success.
C. Would like to form an honor code committee. Is anyone interested? I can print information and place it in anyone’s mailbox that is interested.
D. Please drop off $5 in my mailbox if any member has not paid for their T-shirt yet.

VII. Student Life – Kate Dickie
A. Sports Marketing Club and the Alumni Association are co-sponsoring a “Spring Sports Festival” on Saturday, April 20th at Metzgar Fields. Shuttle bus will leave from the Williams Art Center starting at 11:00a.m and will return every half-hour.
B. Found a possible drug speaker prospect. His name is Mike Neary and he will be sending information pertaining to his background and qualifications.

VIII. Public Relations – Kelly Smith
A. Thanks to everyone for turning in write-ups for the bulletin board. However, I now need pictures from everyone.
B. Made flyers for our two anti-hate week programs this week.
C. Dave Block, the news editor from Campus News, contacted me regarding contacting clubs and encouraging them to send him their information for Campus News. I expect to get back to him this week.

IX. Farinon Food Services – Andrew Van Raalte
A. Joe Binoto cancelled the dining committee meeting for April 17th.
B. “Surf and Turf” night was a huge success at Marquis.
C. Met once again with Fred Quivey about block meal plan and money issues. No progress has been made. Efforts will be continued and stepped up.
D. Gathering ideas for dining service award.

X. Multicultural Affairs – Jenna Menard
A. Thank you to all whom came to the Diversity Forum and contributed to the discussion.
B. Where do we go from here?
1. Will get something together so we can hold people accountable for things that they said and actions they were going to take.
