April 4, 2002

An official meeting of the 2002 Student Government was held in the Farinon Center, Room 12 at 7:20p.m. There were 14 members present.

I. President’s Report – Morgan Albus
A. MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM APRIL 11TH.

B. The Lehigh Conference will be on Saturday, from 1:00p.m.-4: 00p.m
C. The Neighborhood Cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 20.
D. Great job Jenna on the Diversity Forum. It was very successful.
E. The Neighborhood Cleanup will be on Saturday, from 8:00a.m-11: 00a.m. Please try to be there.
F. All government members must be at the FCC Dance to help supervise.
G. Student Government is sponsoring the events on Tuesday and Thursday for Anti-Hate Week.
H. The deadline for nominations for the Pepper Prize will be Friday, April 12.

II. Vice President’s Report – Amy Giacobone
A. Attended the Faculty Meeting on Tuesday, April 2nd. Among issues discussed were the outline for the Threshold 2000 goals, appointment of Professor Slaght as the new Clerk, and the addition of new music and biology classes.
B. Asked Student Government Reps to e-mail pertinent weekly issues to me in order to encourage attendance at Student Government Meetings.

III. Secretary’s Report – Alex Karapetian
A. If any member signs up for office hours, make sure to be there.

IV. Treasurer’s Report – Elizabeth Harris
A. The Marquis Literary Magazine is here to present an emergency allocation.

V. Campus Student Services – Brad Ship
A. Met with Bruce Feretti and discussed:
1.A new donor who will give 25 lights per year for the next three years.
2. Weekend cleanup in the dorms

VI. Student Life – Meredith Walburg
A. FCC Dance is Saturday from 10:00p.m.-2:00a.m.
B. Experience Lafayette will be from 11:45a.m.-1:15p.m. We need as many people as possible to help.
C. Parking help is needed for the morning of Experience Lafayette. Please try to attend.

VII. Public Relations – Kelly Smith
A. Made the April events calendar. Please add any additional events on it.
B. Please turn in write-ups and photos for the bulletin board.

VIII. Farinon Food Services – Andrew Van Raalte
A. The dining Committee held a meeting and discussed “premium” food nights.

IX. Multicultural Affairs – Jenna Menard
A. Discussed details about the Diversity Forum for UAHW.

B. Receiving nominations for the Hoff Awards.

IX. Student Life – Kate Dickie
A. Attended the Maroon Platoon Meeting. Discussed publicity and attendance at sporting events.

X. Community Affairs – Lee Goldfarb
A. Called Pat from the August Survivors Center and planned an event for April 16th during Anti-Hate Week.
B. Essay contest went very well. Thanks for all the help.
C. Extravaganza will be next week. All government members are encouraged to attend.

XI. Greek Liason – Jonathon Cohn
A. Make a Wish Foundation will be on Thursday. Each fraternity will donate $50 and Hershey kisses will be sold to raise money.
B. Program to help clean the streets. Fraternities are going to help out.
C. There are three final candidates remaining for the position of Greek Advisor.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:33 p.m. These are the official minutes of the Student Government.
