Delta Upsilon fraternity raised more than $1,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Easton through its second annual Balloon Launch on the Quad May 9.
According to Joseph Cohen ’04 (Glencoe, Ill.), vice president of public relations for DU and a psychology major, the fraternity raised $783 through ticket sales and $240 from sales of T-shirts promoting the event. Raffle tickets for two balloon rides were sold for $3 each or $5 for two tickets. A barbecue was held on the Quad before the drawing.
Lafayette’s sororities and fraternities devote a significant amount of time every year to collectively raising over $20,000 for philanthropic causes and volunteering in the community.
