David S. Daniels '85 has joined Wachovia Securities Financial Sponsors Group as a managing director based in New York. Daniels, 39, was previously a managing director at Deutsche Banc Alex Brown.

“David brings to Wachovia a proven track record calling on private equity firms and originating high margin products including IPOs, mergers and acquisition advisory services and leveraged finance opportunities,” said Jeff Armstrong, had of Wachovia's Financial Sponsors Group, which is headquartered in Charlotte. “David is a terrific new addition to the team, and I am pleased that we will benefit from his leadership and experience.”

Daniels has more than 15 years investment banking experience in several global firms. He joined Deutsche Banc Alex Brown's financial sponsors group in 1998, where he provided mergers and acquisition advisory services, conducted equity capital market transactions, and brought a range of acquisition financing products to leveraged buyout and venture capital clients. Prior to joining Deutsche Banc, Daniels worked for UBS Securities, Alex Brown & Sons and Kidder Peabody, where he began his career in 1987.

Daniels is a 1985 economics and business graduate of Lafayette.
