A paper coauthored by two professors and two students has been published in a peer-reviewed journal, Acta Chromatographica.

Joseph Sherma, professor emeritus of chemistry, and Bernard Fried, professor emeritus of biology, collaborated with biochemistry majors Stacey Wagner ’03 (Shavertown, Pa.) and Janna Pachuski ’02 (Kulpmont, Pa) to publish “Thin-layer chromatographic analysis of carbohydrates and amino acids in Schistosoma mansoni. (Trematoda) cercariae.”

Both students conducted research with the professors as EXCEL Scholars. A Marquis Scholar, Pachuski graduated in May. She received the American Chemical Society Undergraduate Award, the American Institute of Chemists Award, and the J. Hunt Wilson ’05 Prize in Analytical Chemistry.
