Zoe Weiman Kelman, a young Israeli who has completed military service and is traveling in the U.S., will give a brown bag talk about life in Israel noon Monday in Interfaith Chapel, Hogg Hall.

Kelman is a former counselor for Young Peace Now. She was raised in a peace-oriented shul where severely challenged children and adults are free to worship.

Lunch will be provided free of charge. The event is sponsored by Hillel Society and the Chaplain’s Office.

A series brown bag talks has been scheduled for the near future. They will be held in Interfaith Chapel unless otherwise indicated:

Sept. 20: “Mexican Murals,” Michael Jordan, assistant professor of foreign languages and literatures, 108 Williams Center, a Hispanic Heritage Month event;

Sept. 27: “Seeing it Hispanic,” Michael Jordan, assistant professor of foreign languages and literatures, a Hispanic Heritage Month event;

October 4: Victor DeNoble, a former Philip Morris employee, on smoking safety;

Oct. 11: TBA;

Oct. 18: “The Dangers of Scholarly Self-deception: a Case Study,” Howard Marblestone, associate professor of foreign languages and literatures.
