Previously responsible for U.S. corporate bond trading at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.’s New York office, Michael C. Heaney ’86 recently moved to London as head of European debt syndication, where he is responsible for the origination and pricing of European corporate debt instruments.

“I enjoyed the Lafayette international business class, which piqued my interest in this career path,” recalls Heaney, an economics and business graduate. “This led my thought process to international trade, and how global markets were influenced. I also did an undergraduate internship with a local bank, which introduced me to the principles of credit analysis.”

Heaney joined Morgan Stanley in 1986, beginning in credit research and later moving into bond trading. In 2000 he was named risk manager for the corporate bond desk. He received an M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 1990.
