Student Government Meeting Minutes: Oct. 10, 2002

An official meeting of the 2002 Student Government was held in the Farinon Center, Room 12 at 7:10 p.m. There were 10 members present.

I. President’s Report – Morgan Albus
A. MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM SEPTEMBER 12.
MOTION PASSES

B. The Iraq panel will be held the week of October 21-28.
C. The Trustee dinner will be held on Thursday, October 17 at 6:00 p.m.
D. Next week’s Student Government meeting will be held on Friday, October 18 at 12:00 p.m.
E. Student Government is making a banner for the Lehigh-Lafayette ticket sales. Anyone who can help meet in Farinon at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
F. Please give Lee $10 for the Diabetes Walk.
G. The ISA panel was today, October 10 at 12:00 p.m.

II.Vice President’s Report – Amy Giacabone
A. Attended the Faculty Compensation Committee meeting on Tuesday, October 8.
B. Planning on contacting Student Appeals Committee members and/or faculty chairs regarding penalty policies and review of offenses presented to the committee.

III. Secretary’s Report – Alex Karapetian
A. Office Hours have begun this week. Missed office hours will result in unexcused
absences.

IV. Treasurer’s Report – Liz Harris
A. Linux User’s Group is here to present their constitution.

V. Student Life- Meredith Walburg
A. Thanks to LEAP, Panhel, and the Freshman Class Council for help with drug awareness at lunch time.
B. Still working hard on organizing the pep rally.
C. Drug Awareness in Farinon was successful. Unfortunately, the drug speaker cancelled due to transportation problems.

VI. Multicultural Affairs – Jenna Menard
A. Contacted Dean Spell about possibly meeting with the POSSE program students.
