November 7, 2002

An official meeting of the 2002 Student Government was held in the Farinon Center, Room 12 at 7:06 p.m. There were 14 members present.

I. President’s Report – Morgan Albus
A. MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES from October 31st..
MOTION PASSES

B. Transition will be held on Saturday, December 7th at 9:30 a.m.
C. Elections will be held the week of November 12th in Farinon and in Marquis.
D. Please meet in the office tomorrow afternoon to help make banners.
E. Dean Worthen would like Student Government to help co-sponsor a sexual assault and misconduct speaker. More information will be provided soon.

II. Vice President – Amy Giacobone
A. Attended the Faculty Meeting on Tuesday, November 5th.
B. Comprising a list of Associate reps that are going abroad in order to prepare for replacements.

III. Secretary’s Report – Alex Karapetian
A. The office hours sheet has been made, please attend all times that you sign up for.

IV. Treasurer’s Report – Liz Harris
A. The Outreach Center is here to present an emergency allocation.
MOTION to allocate $120 to the Outreach Center.

A. The Hockey team is here to present an emergency allocation.
MOTION to table the allocation to the Hockey team.

V. Campus Student Services – Brad Ship
A. Have a meeting with Fred Quivey about issues still discussed at the Trustee Dinner.

VI. Student Life- Meredith Walburg
A. Still working on the pep rally.
1). Shirts have been ordered in small, medium, and large.
2). Having a meeting on Monday with all of the clubs that are involved with the pep rally.
3). Will give all of the government publicity jobs at next week’s meeting.

VII. Student Life – Kate Dickie
A. Working on the pep rally with Meredith. It will be very successful.

VIII. Community Affairs – Lee Goldfarb
A. The blood drive is on November 18.

IX. Elections – Liz Koskinen
A. The deadline for Student Government nominations is extended until November 11.
B. The elections have been extended to November 12th-14th.
C. Will be calling all nominees about guidelines for campaigning.

X. Academic Affairs – Jess Rowlands
A. Met with the Provost and spoke about:
1) The 11th hour programs
2) Photography
3) Meeting with Mike O’Neill and Professor Wesfall about getting the London interim trip to be considered as a culture cluster course.
4) Scheduled meetings with two FYS professors to discuss their programs.
B. Contacted Professor Dave Husic about the “What to expect as a non-major in the sciences.”
C. I have a meeting with Dean Hutchinsin next week.

XI. Farinon Food Services – Andrew Van Raalte
A. Jessica Bisher won the Employee of the Month award.
B. The next dinning committee meeting will be on Tuesday, November 19 at 12:00 p.m. in Marquis.
