Music major Jack Furlong ’05 (Hopewell, N.J.) led Sax Appeal, a jazz band based in Hopewell Valley, N.J., in a concert today in the Farinon Center snack bar.

The free event was sponsored by Newman Association, Lafayette Activities Forum, and Haven Club.

Furlong plays baritone saxophone, soprano sax, flute, and clarinet. The rest of the band includes Garret Voorhees, tenor sax; Eric Wojcik, alto sax and soprano sax; Joe Stellino, guitar; John Nettles, bass; Will Fassbender, drums; and Ryan Smith, vocals.

Furlong is a member of Lafayette’s Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo. Two of his original compositions, “Eating Ice Cream in the Dark” and “Vanessa’s Blues,” were performed at the Jazz Combo’s debut concert last December.
