Jean-Pierre Lalande, professor of French and Latin and chair of foreign languages at Moravian College, will speak on “France and the War on Iraq” noon today at a brown lunch in Interfaith Chapel, Hogg Hall.

Sponsored by the department of foreign languages and literatures, the event is free and open to the public.

Lalande earned Licence ès Lettres from Faculté des Lettres et Sciences Humaines, Poitiers, France; and master’s and Ph.D. degrees from University of Iowa. His interests include French 20th-century novels and drama, and contemporary European politics. Lalande lives in Europe for several months each year. He has led numerous study tours as well as bicycling trips throughout Europe.
