The sophomore team of Shawn Regits (Bethlehem, Pa.), Adam Lichtenberg-Scanlan (Great Neck, N.Y.), and David O’Neill (Red Bank, N.J.) won the mini-dragster race held Monday afternoon on a 26-foot track in the Marlo Room of Farinon College Center.

The award for best design went to Nick Paulish ’05 (Yardley, Pa.), Marc Hopkins ’04 (North Hampton, N.H.), Adam Simpson ’04 (Aston, Pa.), and Yashpal Subedi ’05 (Ghorahi, Dang, Nepal).

Forty-eight mechanical engineering students enrolled in the Manufacturing and Design course taught by Jeffrey Helm, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, competed in the race. A total of 13 teams designed, built, and tested the battery-powered vehicles for the class, which introduces future engineers to the art of design.
