A “Valley Arts” television program that debuted June 4 features Ed Kerns, Eugene H. Clapp Professor of Art, and several Lafayette artistic collaborators. The show aired on RCN Channel 4, with repeat telecasts throughout the month each Thursday and Wednesday.
The program highlights new digital art by Kerns, who discusses his exhibit — since concluded — at Easton’s Ahlum Gallery. The program also includes interviews with musician Tom DiGiovanni ’96, director of the Brass Ensemble and Concert and Pep Bands; poet Ross Gay ’96, Dean of Studies Humanities Fellow at Lafayette for the past two years; and Romy Mariano ’04, an art major from Bethlehem, Pa.
The larger context of the show is Easton’s growing gallery scene and its First Sunday event, when galleries, shops, and restaurants are open and hold special events the first Sunday of each month. Others from Easton’s arts scene on the program are artists Angel Suarez-Rosado, director of Innovare Gallery; Bill Barrell of Bullseye Gallery; and Isadore LaDuca, exhibiting in June at the Gallery at St. John’s.
For more information on the Kerns exhibit, which ran through June 28, see the related article on the Lafayette web site.
