The Brass Ensemble will hold its first rehearsal 7:30-9 p.m. tonight. The group’s rehearsals this semester will take place 7:30-9 p.m. Tuesdays and 6:15-7:45 p.m. Thursdays in Williams Center room 123. The Brass Ensemble is scheduled to perform at the Williams Center with the Orchestra and Wind Ensembles 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.

Auditions for the Jazz Ensemble will be held 8 p.m. Thursday in Williams Center room 123. If you cannot attend but are interested in performing with the group, contact director Ken Brader at mrtrmpt@aol.com. The first rehearsal for the Jazz Ensemble is scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in room 123. The Jazz Ensemble is scheduled to perform 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Williams Center.

Brader directs both ensembles. Considered one of the country’s top trumpet players, he is lead trumpet and soloist with the Philadelphia Pops Orchestra, a frequent performer in Philadelphia and New York venues, and recently played principal trumpet on NFL Films’ symphonic recordings for national broadcast. Brader has traveled internationally as assistant musical director, featured soloist, and lead trumpet with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. He has played with Chuck Mangione, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and many of the world’s leading jazz performers.
