Crew Club will hold a meeting for interested students 7 p.m. today in Limburg Theater of Farinon College Center.

The team will practice 4-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday this season. It won the Hoff Award for Club Sport of the Year last spring.

At the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia last May, the women’s novice boat finished sixth in a field of 52 teams, trailing third place by just 4.2 seconds in the finals. The men’s varsity four advanced to the semifinals, clocking the ninth fastest time among the 39 entries.

Later in May, the men’s varsity four competed with teams from around the country at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association’s 101st National Championship Regatta on the Cooper River in Camden County, N.J. More than 1,100 oarsmen from over 60 colleges and universities competed. Lafayette faced Ivy League and California powers along with top teams such as the universities of Wisconsin and Washington.

Earlier in the spring, four of the club’s teams took first place in a competition among Patriot League schools. In the fall, the women’s novice four earned second place at the Head of the Schuylkill race, and the men’s novice four took first at the Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta.
