CECO names Mecca ’90 assistant engineering manager

Michael C. Mecca ’90 was recently named assistant engineering manager for CECO Associates, a civil and environmental engineering firm located in Scranton, Pa.

Mecca was previously a junior engineer and a project engineer, working on a wide variety of design applications with particular emphasis on highway and industrial site engineering.

He has also worked on several major interstate restoration projects, a flood control project, wetland mitigation and storm water management projects, and a large industrial site engineering project. Mecca joined CECO in 1990 as a project engineer. He was also a member of CECO’s NBIS Bridge Inspection Team, performing safety inspection work on more than 250 bridges in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

After graduating from Lafayette with a bachelors degree in civil engineering, Mecca also studied storm water management, wetland identification and mitigation, and flood plain mapping and management at PennStateUniversity. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers and has received official certification as a bridge inspector from the National Institute of Certified Engineering Technologies (NICET).
