On Feb. 12, David Furth ’85 of Westport was named vice president of client services for Transcentive, a provider of software and outsourcing services for stock plan and global entity management. In his new role, Furth will lead the company’s consulting, outsourcing, and customer support operations.

According to Transcentive, most major financial brokers, numerous leading law and

venture capital firms, and nearly 3,000 public and private companies use the company’s products and services. Clients include Microsoft, Bausch & Lomb, and Campbell Soup Company. Transcentive is headquartered in Shelton, Conn.

Prior to his new position, Furth was director of strategic services for i2 Technologies where his initiatives resulted in the formation of a business consulting group to improve client relations. Furth had previously served as vice president of strategic alliances for RightWorks, which was acquired by i2 Technologies in 2001. His prior positions include director/practice leader for e-sourcing and procurement at Deloitte Consulting/DRT Systems and director of information systems at the Turner Corp.

Said Furth: “I learned a great lesson from my advisor, Dr. (Vincent) Viscomi—to keep everything in perspective and not to let one issue or problem overwhelm you.”

Gamber a rising star in New York real estateOn April 23, Scott Gamber ’75 was named executive managing director of Insignia/ESG, a commercial real estate company. Based in New York, Insignia/ESG provides brokerage, consulting, property management, fee development, investment sales, and debt placement operations in major U.S. cities.

“I advise major companies and professional firms that have a reason to review, adjust and/or change their current occupancy situation by analyzing their particular space needs and comparing the economics and benefits/negatives of various alternatives,” said Gamber. “It’s a very methodical and logical process, leaving no stone unturned.”

Most recently, Gamber completed one of 2002’s largest office spaces leases executed in Paris—a 100,000-square-foot lease for Latham & Watkins. Previously, he was a senior

managing director. Prior to joining Insignia/ESG in 1999, he was an executive vice president at Jones Land LaSalle and cohead of the Tenant Representation Group in its

New York office.

After graduating from Lafayette, Gamber earned an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at DukeUniversity. But, he said, never underestimate the undergraduate experience.

“My time spent studying civil engineering at Lafayette taught me how to look at a situation and use engineering logic to work through and solve the problem,” he said. “I use that same logical process every day in my work.”
