Lafayette Environmental Awareness and Protection is teaming up with Students for Social Justice on Wednesday to hold a brown bag about factory farming and a vegan Thanksgiving meal.

The discussion of factory farming will explore issues such as environmental impact, moral concerns, and health considerations at noon in Gagnon Lecture Hall, Hugel Science Center room 100. A presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session. A vegan lunch of humus, pita, falafel, and vegetables will be served.

The vegan Thanksgiving dinner will be served 7 p.m. at McKelvy House, High and Brodhead Streets.

“The purpose of the dinner is help students discover how easy and tasty food still is when it is free of dead animal products,” says electrical and computer engineering major Kristen Radecsky ’04 (Flemington, N.J.).

She is serving as a main planner for the events along with biochemistry major Katelyn Connell ’04 (Modena, N.Y.), mechanical engineering Wes Lane ’05 (Plaistow, N.H.), and electrical and computer engineering major Jon Dufresne ’05 (Atkinson, N.H.). Also assisting are biology major Jessica Zafonte ’06 (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and mechanical engineering major Varun Mehta ’06 (New Delhi, India).
