Class Notes editor retires After 10 years of editing “Class Notes,” Rita Grillo put away her red pencil, turned off her computer, and retired in December. Grillo, an office assistant in Alumni Affairs, was a technical writer and editor at First Valley Bank for 13 years before joining Lafayette in 1993. Christine Damiano ‘02, an office assistant in Alumni Affairs, will become Class Notes Editor. Grillo says she has enjoyed working with the class correspondents over the years, whom she declares are a wonderful and tremendously dedicated group of volunteers, many having also held their positions for 10 years or more. “Because of their enthusiasm and loyalty to Lafayette College, the correspondents have consistently made ‘Class Notes’ an extremely popular section of the Alumni News, containing both quality and quantity of writing,” says Grillo, adding, “Most of all, I’ll just really miss all the emails, phone calls, and notes from a great bunch of people.” Of her retirement plans Grillo says, “I want to spend time with my children and grandchildren and travel around a bit.” She and her husband, Dominick, plan to spend winters near Clear-water, Fla. and summers in the LehighValley.
