Class of 1974 contributes most callers to phonathon Seventeen alumni secured 193 pledges for a total of $58,630 at the Oct. 14 regional phonathon in the PfenningAlumniCenter. The event, which wrapped up the Annual Fund’s fall regional phonathon season, was staffed by volunteers Dan Cohen ‘65, Brian Cort ‘99, Mandy Shane Dicker ‘84, Bruce Dickerson ‘51, Kit Green ‘56, Howard Heller ‘65, Tracy Heller ‘87, Chris Johnston ‘99, Brian Scott Meyers ‘01, Al Siegel ‘60, Charlie Solomon ‘62, June Vail ‘79, and John Weis ‘62, as well as six members of the class of 1974: Mark Damiano, Diane Vollweiler Elliott, Joe Grimes, Bob Jacob, Scott Lackey, and Don Harris. The Class of 1974, which will celebrate its 30th reunion next June, won the reunion registration contest by having the most alumni attend regional phonathons throughout the fall. The prize is a $25 discount on each reunion registration. Dan Winston ‘87 hosted the Sept. 15 Boston Phonathon, which was attended by Mark Suffredini ‘93, Frank Campbell, Jr. ‘74, Tom Tremblay ‘74, Arthur Goldsmith ‘71, and Lauren Hubbard ‘03. The New York City Phonathon was held Sept. 17. Co-chairs Cara Belardi ‘02 and Bob Burns ‘63 were joined by Dayna DeSimone ‘02, Jon Ellis ‘98, Jeff Glascott ‘79, Stephanie Hayes ‘94, Dave Rose ‘88, Sarah Ryan ‘02 and Leslie Smith ‘02. Three phonathons were held in the Northeast on Sept. 24. The Central New Jersey Phonathon was hosted by Bob Sell ‘84, the Westchester/Fairfield Phonathon by Mark Weisburger ‘55, and the Philadelphia Phonathon by Tom Padilla ‘78. The events generated 169 pledges for a total of $168,662.
