Representatives of 28 companies from four states as well the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection will visit campus 4-7 p.m. Tuesday for the eighth annual American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Joint Student Chapter Career Fair.

The employers will discuss job opportunities and internships with civil engineering students and A.B. engineers from Lafayette, Lehigh, Penn, and Drexel. Lafayette geology and earth sciences majors also have been invited to attend because some of the companies engage in work related to their fields, notes Serena Ashmore, secretary of civil and environmental engineering.

Ashmore organized the event along with Fernando Luna ’04 (Managua, Nicaragua), vice president of Lafayette’s ASCE student chapter, who is pursuing both a B.S. in civil engineering and B.A. in international studies.

The companies represent a variety of areas related to engineering, including environmental, geotechnical, structural, surveying, hydraulics, transportation, and real estate development.
