The deadline for nominating class officers has been extended to the end of this week.

“The class officer structure is the backbone of the alumni association volunteer program,” explains John Leone, director of Alumni Affairs. “The job of the class officers is to communicate regularly with the class and inform them of college events and issues. Officers come back to campus twice a year for training workshops.”

Each spring prior to graduation, seniors elect five class officers to serve a five-year term with subsequent elections held at the five-year reunion in June. Faculty, administrators, and seniors may make nominations; seniors can nominate themselves. Elections will be held in early April.

Names for specific positions should be submitted to Leone at leonej@lafayette.edu.

The positions:
Class President – Responsible for overall leadership of class and assisting in coordination of communication among all officers and the college.

Class Reunion Chair – Responsible for working with a committee and alumni office to implement a reunion program

Class Fund Manager– Responsible for managing the solicitation of classmates for annual support.

Class Correspondent– Responsible for creating and submitting the class column that appears in Alumni News.

Class Alumni Council Rep– Represents the class at an annual Alumni Council meeting on campus and updates the class on campus happenings after the meeting.
