COYER ’05 AND DOURTE ’05 RECEIVE GOLDWATER SCHOLARSHIPS
Megan Coyer ’05, a neuroscience major, and LeAnn Dourte ’05, a mechanical engineering major, have achieved national distinction as recipients of prestigious Goldwater Scholarships, the premier undergraduate award in the fields of mathematics, science, and engineering. Lafayette students have been awarded 10 Goldwaters in the last five years.

GREGORY ’04 AWARDED FULBRIGHT FELLOWSHIP TO GERMANY
The fourth Lafayette student in five years to win a Fulbright, Shara Gregory ’04, a double major in International Affairs and German, is examining the Benes Decrees of 1945-46 issued by the Czechslovak government in a year-long honors project.

FEUER ’05 WINS CAMBODIA FELLOWSHIP
One of only five students in the nation chosen as a Center for Khmer Studies Junior Fellow, Hart Feuer ’05, a double major in economics & business and German, will spend three months conducting research in Siem Reap-Angkor, Cambodia, this summer. He was one of 80 students nationally honored with a Morris K. Udall Scholarship for 2003-04.

SEFCIK ’04 WINS NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP
A chemical engineering major, Lauren Sefcik ’04 will use the fellowship to pursue a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering. She is currently selecting a graduate school.

BIG WEEKEND FOR LAFAYETTE BASEBALL
The baseball team hosts Bucknell in a key Patriot League series this weekend at Class of 1978 Stadium, Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex. Both squads have 6-6 Patriot League records, tied for second place. The top three teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the Patriot League Championship Tournament, giving the pair of doubleheaders—which begin at noon Saturday and Sunday—serious playoff implications.

MARQUIS PLAYERS ANNUAL MUSICAL RAISES FUNDS FOR LOCAL CHARITIES
This year’s production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown was directed by Tyler Cohn ’06, who is majoring in English with a theater concentration and a minor in history. The musicals have raised $67,000 over 18 years. The 2005 performance is set for April 1-3.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE STILL IN THE HUNT FOR PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
The women’s lacrosse team defeated Holy Cross 17-11 to remain in contention for the four-team Patriot League Championship Tournament. The Leopards host Villanova, their final Patriot League opponent, on Friday, April 23 at Rappolt Field at the Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex beginning at 7 p.m.

PLANS FOR $29 MILLION RESIDENCE HALL MOVE FORWARD
Current plans for the new residential complex and parking deck along Sullivan Lane call for an expected ground-breaking in May. The four residence halls will have 315 beds and the parking structure will have 336 spaces. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2005. Each building will house between 80 to 85 students. One will have suites of two single bedrooms, one double bedroom, a kitchen, and a lounge. Another will primarily house first-year students in double rooms and one will have a cluster of 15 rooms designed to accommodate a special-interest living group.
