A new ID card system is being instituted for use in Dining Services, the libraries, Kirby Sports Center, and the College Store.

Digital pictures of all students, faculty, and staff will be taken for the new system in the Marlo Room center lounge, Farinon Center room 204C, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday, May 3 through Thursday, May 6, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, May 7. The names of those whose pictures are taken in that period will be entered into a raffle. An Ipod MP3 player will be given to a student and a new digital camera will be given to a member of the faculty and staff.

The cards will feature an updated look and a non-laminate cardstock that will make them more durable than the current cards. To protect personal information, a unique code will be used instead of the Social Security number.

The tentative phase-in period is Aug. 6-9; the old cards will no longer work after this period.

Information on when and where the new ID cards can be picked up will be given in a few weeks.
