The women’s a cappella group Cadence will audition students 4-6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the Farinon Center’s Marlo Room.

Singers should bring one to two minutes (e.g. a verse and chorus) of a solo song that is similar to Cadence’s repertoire (rock, pop, and jazz) to sing a cappella.

Visit the Cadence web site or contact Toni Ahrens ’05 (Hamilton, N.Y.), the group’s president, at ahrenstt to learn more about the group or auditions.

Cadence’s upcoming performances include appearances at Family Weekend and the Block pARTy.

Cadence’s latest CD is Beyond Your Front Door. The group’s campus concerts last semester included a year-end free concert in May, a show on the main stage of the Williams Center for the Arts in April, and an evening with Quintessence in March. Last year, it became the first Lafayette group to advance beyond the quarterfinals of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella.

A double major in psychology and English, Ahrens won last spring’s inaugural Lafayette Idol competition.
