Government major Michael P. Senackerib ’87 has served as executive vice president and general manager of the Kraft Foods snacks division since April 2003. He was previously vice president of marketing for the crackers, biscuit division.

Senackerib is responsible for Kraft’s various snack products, including Planters peanuts, Planters Cheezmania Cheezballs, and Cornnuts. Senackerib also is a member of Kraft’s operating committee.

“Mike brings broad-based food marketing experience and an outstanding record of building businesses across a number of different categories, including snacks,” said Michael B. Polk, group vice president, at the time of Senackerib’s appointment.

Senackerib began his career in 1989 at General Foods (now part of Kraft) in brand management where he worked on such brands as Cool Whip and Sealtest and Knudsen ice cream. He then moved to Campbell Soup where he held a number of marketing positions. Senackerib joined Nabisco in 1997 as the business director of savory crackers. In 2000, he was named vice president of marketing for all cracker products. He has an M.B.A. from Columbia University.

Kraft, which markets many leading food brands, is based in Northfield, Ill., near Chicago.
