A service celebrating the life of the late K. Roald Bergethon, who served 20 years as 12th president of Lafayette, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, January 27, in Colton Chapel.

Among those offering remembrances will be Bergethon’s sons, Bruce L. Bergethon and Dr. Peter R. Bergethon; President Arthur J. Rothkopf ’55; Lawrence J. Ramer ’50, former chair of the Board of Trustees; and William A. Jeffers, professor emeritus of physics and former dean of studies, dean of the college, and dean of academic services.

Bergethon died Dec. 17. His administration, 1958-78, was a period of extraordinary growth in academic quality, financial strength, and physical facilities at the College (see story).
