Comedian Romont Harris will perform his stand-up act 10 p.m. Saturday in the Farinon Center Snack Bar.

The free Black History Month event is sponsored by Lafayette Activities Forum.

A native of Philadelphia, Harris got his first taste of the spotlight in high school, where he reigned as unofficial class clown. His act is energetic and includes both comedy and song and dance. He has appeared on television shows such as “The Jamie Foxx Show,” BET’s “Comic View,” and “It’s Showtime at the Apollo.”

Harris has opened for many musical acts and performers, from Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, and DL Hughley to George Wallace, Dougie Fresh, and Ice Cube.

When not touring college campuses and comedy venues across the country, he dedicates some of his time to drug-prevention programs in Philadelphia schools.
