Lafayette will be featured nationally from noon to 8 p.m. on Fox News Channel this Saturday, March 12.

A Fox crew visited campus today to interview Carol Rowlands ’81, director of admissions, and Chuck Bachman, senior associate director of admissions, about the new Scholastic Aptitude Test, with a writing component, which will be administered for the first time Saturday.

Producer Ellen Fleysher said she selected Lafayette because she was looking for an “undergraduate, private, coed institution with a reputation for academic excellence.” She said the Lafayette segment is scheduled to air on Fox News Channel “once every hour, or nearly so” from noon to 8 p.m. this Saturday.

Fleysher spoke with Rowlands about the admissions process and Rowlands’ views on the likely impact of the new SAT on Lafayette. She interviewed Bachman, who is president-elect of the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling (PACAC), for additional insight into colleges’ and students’ perspectives on the new test.

PACAC is dedicated to encouraging, advocating, and facilitating equal access to post secondary education, fostering communication among students, families, professionals and institutions, and promoting professional development.
