Conducting research with Jamila Bookwala, assistant professor of psychology, and reporting her findings at the national symposium of the Gerontological Society of America was “an experience I will never forget,” says Melissa Mitchell ’03. Now assistant director of annual giving at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Mitchell volunteers as a class agent. “I’d like to say my reasons for participating have to do with my current occupation and my understanding that institutions today don’t get far without philanthropic help, but my real motivation is love for the school. Lafayette gave me more than I could ever imagine—an outstanding education, social skills, and lasting friendships.”
