Lafayette’s Williams Visual Arts Building on North Third Street in downtown Easton will remain closed through Sunday, April 10, for cleaning and repairs following the recent flooding.

Students should contact their instructors or the registrar’s office for information about classes affected by the building’s temporary closing.

Two appearances by artist Loren Madsen have been cancelled, a public lecture slated for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, in Williams Center for the Arts, and a reception scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, April 7, in the WVAB. Madsen’s exhibit “6 Billion Monkeys” is on view in WVAB through April 23.

Three other events scheduled for the WVAB have been cancelled:

  • The Thursday evening art program for high school students, scheduled for 5-7 p.m., has been cancelled for Thursday, April 7
  • The Thursday evening open drawing class, scheduled for 7-10 p.m., has been cancelled for Thursday, April 7
  • The Friday morning figure-drawing class, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., has been cancelled for Friday, April 8
