The Gilman International Scholarship Program seeks to broaden the student population that studies abroad by supporting undergraduates who have been traditionally under-represented in U.S. study abroad and those with high financial need. The application deadline for spring programs is Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Eligible students must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application and cannot study abroad in a country currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning or in Cuba.

Founded under the International Academic Opportunities Act of 2000, the congressionally funded Gilman program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education.

For more information, full eligibility criteria, and the online application, visit the Gilman Program web site.
