Students will have the opportunity to network with about 50 alumni from various areas of finance Wednesday, Oct. 26 at the Princeton Club, New York City. The event is open to students with all majors and class years who have an interest in the field of finance. Bus transportation will be provided.

Alumni will answer questions, provide information about their companies, and offer advice for students at all phases of the career search. Companies sending alumni representatives include Bank of New York, Barclays Capital, Bear Stearns, Citigroup, Credit Suisse First Boston, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, New England Financial, and UBS.

Students will learn about products and services that these national and global companies provide, including investment banking, insurance, financial services, securities trading and brokerage, financial transaction processing, private equity, equity and fixed income sales, and asset management.

“This event will help students clarify their career goals and is a way for them to gather information about the field of finance,” says Maureen Walz Boehmer, assistant director for special programs, career services. “It’s also a way for alumni to give of their time and talent and to stay connected to Lafayette.”

The bus will depart from the Williams Center for the Arts at 3:15 p.m. and should return to campus at approximately 10:30 p.m. Students should bring a small note pad and pen. Business attire is required.

Due to limited space, interested students should contact career services, x5115, as soon as possible. A $20 refundable deposit is required. Deadline for registration is 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10.
