Spirit Week events will start Sunday and lead up to the annual football game against archrival Lehigh.

Weeklong events include a Student Government banner contest open to students and campus groups. Banners must be submitted to the Student Government office by Monday, Nov. 14. In addition, Residence Hall Council is holding a window-decorating contest. The most spirited floor will win a study break. Contact a RHC representative for more information.

The schedule of events:

Sunday, Nov. 13

  • “An Afternoon of A Cappella,” presented by the Arts Society to benefit Friends of Lafayette Music, 3 p.m. at the Williams Center for the Arts.
  • Raining Jane, a female rock band from Los Angeles, 8 p.m. in Gilbert’s Café.

Monday, Nov. 14

  • Mechanical bull riding, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Farinon Atrium.
  • Annual dodgeball tournament hosted by Recreation Services, 7-10 p.m. Deadline for registration is Nov. 8 at Kirby Sports Center.

Tuesday, Nov. 15

  • Mountain Hawk Wing Eating Contest, 12:30 p.m. at the Quad. Sign ups will be in the Farinon Atrium at lunchtime Nov. 14.
  • Fringe Festival, 8 p.m. at the Williams Center Black Box Theater, sponsored by the theater department. Students, faculty, and alumni will present original plays, performance art, music, and poetry.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

  • 2 Turntables and a Mic freestyle competition, 9 p.m. at Farinon Snackbar. For more information or to sign up, contact Jadrien O. Ellison ’02, x5556.

Thursday, Nov. 17

  • Turkey Bowling, 7-9 p.m. in Kamine Gym.
  • Late Night Leopards: Make your Own Spirit Paw, 11 p.m. in Gilbert’s Café.

Friday, Nov. 18

  • CODE MAROON, be seen sporting maroon and white or Lafayette gear and win a prize.
  • Pep rally with free food and a chance to win a pair of Lafayette-Lehigh game tickets, 6:15 p.m. in front of Skillman Library.
  • Fan bus to the hockey game: Lafayette vs. Lehigh, bus will leave directly after the pep rally from the Williams Center. Seats are first come, first serve.
  • Lafayette Activities Forum will present Rudy, 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Limburg Theater; another screening will take place Saturday, same time and location.

Saturday Nov. 19

  • Salsa band Grupo Latino, 9 p.m. in Farinon Atrium.
  • Midnight breakfast served by faculty and staff, 11 p.m.-1 a.m. upstairs Farinon. The event is free for students and $3.50 for guests.
