Elizabeth McMahon, professor of mathematics, will lead a discussion of the Harry Potter book series 8 p.m. Thursday in Skillman Library’s program room for the inaugural event of the Books and Coffee series.

Free coffee and snacks will be provided.

In Books and Coffee, organized by Student Life Programs, faculty and staff lead discussions of books that students are reading for fun. The program gives students the opportunity to hear faculty and staff talk about topics that interest them apart from their research and teaching specializations.

“We think this will be a great way for students to interact with faculty and staff members outside the classroom,” says Kate Robbins, operations manager of Student Life Programs. “It’s always great when students and faculty can find and talk about a common interest that they share.”

The next event in the series is scheduled for Thursday, April 6. Suggestions for Books and Coffee speakers can be sent to Robbins at robbinsk.
