Romance will serve a great cause when the Delta Gamma sorority holds its annual DG Date Auction to fight cystic fibrosis 7 p.m. Friday, March 3 in the Farinon Snack Bar.

“There will hopefully be two people from each sorority and fraternity on campus being auctioned off,” says government and law major Allison Quigley ’08 (North Andover, Mass.), vice president of foundation for Delta Gamma. “The event is always a good time and a big success.”

Last year’s auction raised $600 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Other philanthropic events held by Delta Gamma include Anchor Splash, Anchor Olympics, and various holiday-themed fundraisers such as Vale-Grams to raise money for charities that include Service for Sight.

“We are all looking forward to the Date Auction — it looks like it is going to be fun!” says Quigley.

Delta Gamma sister Margaret Lapsanski ’06 (Lincroft, N.J.) is one of 30 students with cystic fibrosis selected to receive a college scholarship funded by Solvay Pharmaceuticals this school year.
